The Beauty of Fall

Fall is officially here! Here's a list of my top ten favorite things about this beautiful season:

1. The weather. There is a crisp sharpness in the air and sweaters/scarfs start to emerge from hibernation.
2. Three words. Pumpkin Spice Lattes.
3. Football returns! American Football, that is. :)
4. That moment when a strong wind blows and leaves fall like snow.
5. The feeling I get when I snuggle into a warm, fluffy blanket on a cold night.
6. Hocus Pocus. Enough said.
7. Baking. I'm convinced that everything warm and delicious tastes ten times better in Fall.
8. Rain. I'm odd because I LOVE rain. And there's nothing better than curling up with tea and a good book while rain patters down.
9. Fall TV shows all come back in September and October. (Exceptions, however, are Games of Thrones and Sherlock. Highly recommended!)
10. The constant reminder we are entering holiday season. I love seeing Christmas decorations start to pop up in stores!

Have a lovely season.

It's easy to love 'The Big Easy'

While in college, I traveled to New Orleans, Louisiana with my good friend and both of our moms in tow. Double mother-daughter trip! The only word I can think of to describe NOLA is 'alive.' Despite the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, I discovered a thriving and resilient city complete with history, world-class food, breathtaking music, and, of course, ghost and vampire tours. Who could want more? New Orleans sparked a love and a need for travel in me that I didn't even realize I had and looking back on my amazing time there is my inspiration for future travels. So, with that being said, I wanted to share some highlights of my trip.

Beautiful French Quarter balcony. In love.

Walking around the French Quarter...

Unfortunately, this little gem was closed when we went.

My life would be complete if I could say I lived on Pirates Alley.

Cafe du Monde. No words are needed. Let's just say, we came back three times. Delicious, powdery beignets!

Speaking of delicious beignets. Hello gorgeous...in all of your powdery goodness.

Quaint little courtyard.

Nottoway Plantation. One of the many we toured on our trip.

Tour of Houmas House with our very own Southern Belle tour guide.

What Louisiana trip would be complete without a gator tour? And yes, that is a marshmallow.

St. Louis Cathedral. Until next time, New Orleans!

Let's Begin

Graduating college was the first step.  While I try to find my place in this wonderful/scary world, I'll take you along as well.  Happy posting!
